National Energy Conservation Day is observed on 14 December every year in India. It is a celebration of the nation’s conservation and energy efficiency. A perfect chance for everyone including communities, people, businessmen, and government institutions to highlight their role in saving energy through various lifestyle changes as well as industrial rules.
Every year, The National Energy Conservation Awards are organised by the Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) under the Ministry of Power. An annual celebration to acknowledge the institutions and industrial units in reducing carbon prints and saving energy.
The award ceremony is organised on 14 December. Many renowned MNCs and non-governmental institutions are awarded for their contribution towards energy saving.
For those who don’t know, energy conservation involves various practices and actions done to save energy efficiently. It also includes efforts made on individual efforts such as turning off fans and lights when not in use and using public transportation instead of private vehicles. If done on a larger scale then it can lead to saving energy more effectively.
The main aim behind the celebration of this day is to raise awareness of climate energy and global warming while encouraging others to take part in this initiative to save natural resources. A nation’s celebration and contribution they made to conserve energy.
In today’s world, the day holds great significance as the world is facing many challenges when it comes to energy saving and efficiency. There are many ways as discussed above we can shave energy just by making small changes in our daily lives.
