Man charged for allegedly stabbing Panda Express worker over quality of his free meal

A Missouri man is accused of stabbing a male Panda Express worker and punching a female employee over the quality of his food.

Phillip Person, 33, faces several charges including first-degree assault and armed criminal action stemming from the altercation, according to Live 5 News.

Police say they were called to a Panda Express in a suburb of St. Louis around 4 p.m. on Wednesday and arrived to find an employee had been stabbed.

Workers told investigators an irate customer, later identified as Person, was arguing over the quality of free food he was made and had demanded a refund. When the workers declined to refund the free meal, he allegedly started throwing the food around until an employee tried to stop him by knocking the food out of his hand, according to Live 5.

Police say that’s when Person punched the employee in the head.

The restaurant’s manager and an employee had managed to lead the perpetrator outside before the employee was stabbed in his lower back, KTLA reported.

Media reports say the employee was taken to the hospital and later released.

Person allegedly drove off in a work truck but was stopped and arrested, police said. Police told Fox 2 a knife was found and taken into evidence.
